Research and knowledge exchange

Summer of Research 2024

Following positive feedback from our research community, the Summer of Research will return in 2024.

The Summer of Research is a new festival celebrating impact and research at Sussex. Now in its second year, the aim of the festival is to push the boundaries of knowledge in a range of creative ways. This year the festival will be held from May 20 to June 21 2024

For anyone involved in research, whatever level of experience, and curious members of the public, there will be something of interest in our programme. Join us to learn about the diverse range of research at the University, the innovative approaches being taken and pioneering techniques being used.

Some of the exciting events on offer include:

  • Impact Days
  • Sussex Doc Fest
  • a Dragon’s Den-style competition for Early Career Researchers
  • the Sussex Beacons Series of talks from our Research Centres
  • Open Research and Ethics workshops.

Do you know someone who should be recognised and rewarded for their contribution to the University? Make sure you encourage them to enter, or why not enter yourself? Visit the Research Culture and Research Impact Awards page to find out more.

Summer Research strands

If you have an interest in a particular aspect of research, you can follow events throughout the programme by strand. Each activity strand is hosted by different teams from across the University.
