The Part-time Researcher - 11th June
On the 11th June 2015 (09.30 -16.15) we'll be bringing together part-time researchers from across the University, for an interactive one-day workshop.
The event will part-time researchers the opportunity to take some time and space to share experiences and discuss the key issues of being a part-time researcher and will include:
- Panel discussion with two part-time doctoral alumni, sharing their experiences and tips for successful completion
- Guidance on managing your part-time doctorate
- Guidance from a supervisor on how to get the best from part-time supervision
- Advice on using technology to help with part-time research.
Plenty of refreshments will also be provided.
Finding and using audio-visual resources - 25th June (11.00 - 12.30)
Do you use images, film or sound in your research or to support your teaching?
Would you like to know more about the resources that are available to you?
This practical workshop will introduce a range of resources that can help you locate and use audio-visual materials, including Box of Broadcasts, JISC Media Hub and the British Library Sound Archive. From searching and curating collections to citation and copyright, this workshop will provide useful tips and address some of the issues around using audio-visual materials.
Suitable for students, researchers and tutors.
