Doctoral researchers' study reveals new link in research into the behaviour of children and the way parents work together  

Congratulations to School of Psychology doctoral researcher Rachel Latham, who featured in a Sussex Bulletin news item last month after presenting her research findings at the .

Rachels' study examined parental perceptions of co-parent support in association with their children's behaviour, and distinguished between the perceptions of mothers and fathers. Few previous studies into the behaviour of children and the way parents work together have made this distinction, but Rachels’ study found that children are more likely to display troublesome behaviour in families in which the father reports feeling unsupported. For mothers, feeling unsupported by their partners did not relate to their childs' behaviour.
