Autumn teaching

In this module you will adopt a word with which you’ll practise a range of key concepts and skills for linguistic analysis, including sound, structure, meaning and history.

As well as giving you an introduction to linguistic research, you’ll explore the research and communication skills appropriate to academic writing and classroom interaction.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 44 hours of contact time and about 256 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
