Leading Groups and Teams (LEAD) (N1536)

Spring teaching

Develop the skills to become an effective team leader. In this module, you are introduced to some of the commonly-faced issues of working in groups or teams, so you can gain the skills to lead. 

You look at:

  • team design
  • team composition
  • interpersonal dynamics.

You also learn the key processes that occur when group and team members work together, including:

  • communication
  • problem solving
  • decision-making
  • conflicts.

You recognise the outcomes that can be achieved as a result of a group or team working together efficiently.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
