15 credits, Level 5

Autumn teaching

On this module, you'll look at the research methods, techniques and skills used in development research, laying the foundation for your thesis in the third year.

The module is delivered through workshops where you'll focus on practical research skills, while also considering the more abstract issues that shape how we conduct research.

You'll be encouraged to think about research ethics and the connections between project design and data collection methods.

Teamwork is a key aspect of this module, with many workshops involving hands-on group work.
