On this module, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the needs of pupils and the approaches used to develop inclusive environments through an exploration of narrative accounts of young people with diverse needs.
The module introduces the identification of learners with diverse and individual needs, their strengths and difficulties within education settings. You’ll develop an understanding of different types of needs through exploration of the lived realties of children and young people with diverse backgrounds. You’ll explore the statutory guidance, laws, policies and frameworks within society which support inclusion and the implications within practice.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
