Biography
[p]Nicholas is an co-teacher in the School of Global Studies and research associate of the Sussex Centre for Conflict and Security Research. He is Subject Lead in Business & Humanities at the ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« International Study Centre, leading the Social Sciences & Law department and teaching International Relations.[/p] [p]His research interests include critical geopolitics, the history of geopolitics, British politics, Foreign Policy Analysis, discourse analysis, international theory and identity theory.[/p] [p]His first book was published with Routledge in the summer of 2023, after several original journal articles and a chapter in a world-leading textbook.[/p] [p]He worked in secondary education for ten years and maintains a keen interest in pedagogical matters, Special Educational Needs & Disabilities and widening participation in Higher Education.[/p] [p]Nicholas studied at the University of Southampton and received his PhD from the ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« in 2016 with a thesis entitled ‘The Island Race: Geopolitics and identity in British foreign policy discourse since 1949’.[/p][/p]Role
