Biography

I am currently working as a Research Fellow on the ESRC funded project “Criminal Cases Review Commission: Legal Aid and Legal Representatives”, based in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology.

Prior to my current role, I was an ESRC funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London where, over the course of a year, I worked to write up and disseminate my PhD findings. The Fellowship followed my PhD in Geography at the 亚洲情色, where I also taught as a Doctoral Tutor in Geography and Sociology. My research focused on boundaries and hierarchies of national belonging through qualitative analysis of their reproduction among people for whom national identity is broadly taken-for-granted and unquestioned. The thesis included chapters on the extent to which Britain is imagined as a plural nation, participants’ narratives of local ethnic diversity, everyday interaction and encounter, markers of belonging and economies of recognition, and the role of historical imaginaries in reproducing nation. For more information visit .
