The Sussex Fund
From hardship bursaries to mental health support, from scholarships to enhancing the student experience, every penny donated to the Sussex Fund goes directly to those who need it most.
Sussex helps students stay and succeed at university, acting as the catalyst for them to go on and graduate. Student retention is one of the most important things to us, something that we’ve been recognised for by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, which named us ‘University of the Year for Student Retention’.
Through the Sussex Fund and the schemes that it underpins we can provide a safety net for all students, irrespective of their background, through which it is hard for them to fall. It is how Sussex lives up to our values of kindness, integrity, inclusion, collaboration and courage.
As a person with a disability, moving to a new country was challenging. Even more challenging was coping with the pandemic. I surmounted all these hurdles and completed my masters with a Distinction – because, at every time of distress, your help enabled me to pay for addition support; be it food deliveries or paying my rent. Your support was invaluable!”ejiro
