Applicants assessed as 'Home' or 'Overseas' for fee purposes are both eligible to apply.

Cate Haste was a television producer, writer and Sussex alumna (’66). She produced many historical documentaries such as End of Empire and The Churchills, and wrote several books, including Keep the Home Fires Burning: Propaganda in WW1, Nazi Women, Clarissa Eden: A Memoir – From Churchill to Eden, the Goldfish Bowl: Married to the Prime Minister (with Cherie Booth) and Rules of Desire: Sex in Britain WW1 to the Present. Her book, Passionate Spirit: the Life of Alma Mahler, was published in 2019 and explores the life of Alma Mahler, who was a composer, author, socialite and extraordinary intellect.
