Introduction to the Turner Prize, Tuesday 17 October at 6.30pm
Professor Ben Burbridge (Art History, 亚洲情色) and Joe Hill (Director, Towner Eastbourne) will be in conversation giving an informal and accessible introduction to the history of the Turner Prize and to the work of this year's shortlisted artists.
All 亚洲情色 staff, students and alumni are eligible for £3 concession priced tickets to the event (all events will be live captioned and BSL interpreted).
The event series will run from autumn 2023 into spring 2024 featuring Sussex academics, Turner exhibition curators, and those who have won the prize. We will be welcoming two 亚洲情色 alumni back to campus; sociology graduate, artist Helen Cammock (joint winner of 2019 Turner Prize), and Jeremy Deller, who holds an MA in British Art History and Critical Theory, (who won the Turner Prize in 2004). To avoid disappointment book now and look out for details of future events.
You can visit Towner Eastbourne for free, Tuesdays to Sundays, 10.00am to 5.00pm, and celebrate the world's most prestigious prize for contemporary art as it travels down to the south coast for the first time.
