We are busy preparing our campus for our new West Slope development. Several buildings have already been emptied and are no longer in use, which has provided a brilliant opportunity to work with the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to help them carry out important training exercises.
There are four planned exercises across June and July with different teams within East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services taking part each time. The training will be taking place in empty Park Village residences and may involve other emergency services. Different exercises will involve different scenarios and although they may look and sound realistic, please be reassured that no one has been hurt or is in danger. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has worked closely with the University to ensure everyone is safe and cause minimum disruption on campus.
We currently have the following exercises planned, but should Fires Services be required to attend a real emergency, they may be changed at short notice:
- Tuesday 14 June
- Monday 20 June
- Thursday 23 June
- Wednesday 6 July
