Sussex – a home away from home…
Joining Sussex as an international student, I was thrilled and simultaneously filled with a misconception that "It ain't gonna be like home" (that's so untrue).
I fondly remember taking a stroll down to Sussex House on the very first day, just to get acquainted with the new place, and I bumped into a gentleman. We exchanged greetings and I introduced myself formally. My jaw dropped when I realised I was walking for nearly 300 metres with the Vice Chancellor.
To summarize my time at Sussex (from that point until the end), it was one hell of a ride. There were ups and downs - especially with the weather. I met the best bunch of friends from my course whose craziness matched mine. I was fortunate to have the best professors and a dissertation supervisor who offered the best guidance ever.
The Chichester Lab was home to me for the last 60 days at Sussex. I will never forget the amount of black coffees I gulped just to keep calm. The last 30 days, as the stress levels increased, I literally "lived" in the laboratory.
Thank you for the amazing memories Sussex. I hope to be back soon!
