By: Martin Wingfield
Last updated: Tuesday, 5 June 2018
This is a 8 weeks part-time research assistant research role: you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training, under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator (Dr. Silvia De Zordo - University of Barcelona, Department of Anthropology).
You will be part of a research team, which is employed by the University of Barcelona (Host Institution), however researchers who collect data are based in the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands. The first part of this study aims to understand the characteristics of European women travelling to the UK, Netherlands and Spain for abortion care as well as to examine the legal/social barriers to access to legal abortion faced by these women.
The primary purpose of your role is to carry out mixed-methods research on cross-country abortion travel at British abortion clinics, by administering surveys and collecting participants' consent forms and consent to contact forms if they choose to complete the surveys later and/or have a later, remote interview with one of the experienced researchers of the team (Post-doc or PI).
